10 grams or 1 tola?

They are close but not the same: 10 grams is 0.857 tola, so a 10 gram bar holds about 14% less gold than a 1 tola bar and costs correspondingly less. ARY charges the reduced Rs. 2,000 packing on both weights, and Simba charges Rs. 1,200 on both, so the packing does not tip the decision either way.

Choose grams if you are budgeting in round numbers or buying for someone abroad who thinks in grams. Choose tola if resale within Pakistan is the priority — it is the unit every local dealer quotes in.

A note on small bars

The packing charge is fixed, not proportional, so it weighs more heavily on small bars. On a 10 gram bar the charge is a modest share of the total; on a 1 gram bar it is a large one. If you are buying several small bars as gifts, check what a single larger bar would cost first — the difference is often surprising.

How every price on this page is worked out

There is no separate price list to go stale. Each figure is calculated the moment the page loads:

Gold value = the bar's own rate per tola × its weight in tola.
You pay = gold value + the packing charge for that brand and weight.

Two rates are in play, because that is how bars actually trade here. Bars from 1 gram up to 100 grams — including half tola, 1 tola, 2 tola, 1 ounce and 5 tola — are priced on the small bar rate. The 10 tola bar is priced on its own 10 tola rate, which is lower per tola, and it carries no packing charge from either mint. Both are shown at the top of this page.

A tola is 11.664 grams, so a 10 gram bar is 10 ÷ 11.664 = 0.857 tola of gold, plus packing. Change either rate at the counter and every affected bar on the site changes with it, in the same second.

Packaging and verification

Verification features vary by brand and size. Simba smaller bars are packaged with a tamper / void indication and carry a unique serial number and a QR code. ARY Millat small bars are sealed with a tamper / void indication, but carry no individual serial number and no QR code — the packaging is what you inspect. Do not accept packaging that has been opened, tampered with, or whose tamper / void indication has been triggered. Both 10 tola bars are supplied unpacked, with a unique serial number and a QR code.
