Rawa and Pathoor are the same thing

Different customers and different jewellers use different words for it. Some say rawa, some say pathoor, some simply say raw gold. They all describe the same metal at the same purity, and we quote all three the same way — per tola, at the rate on this page.

Why 99.3% is not the same as a 24K bar

This is the distinction that matters most, and it is where people get caught out.

• Raw gold is 99.3% pure. It has no mint, no brand, no serial number and no packaging.
• A manufactured 24K bar — our ARY and Simba bars — is refined higher and carries a fixed packing charge from the mint on the packaged sizes. How each is supplied varies: some sizes come sealed, others carry a serial number and QR code instead.

The two are priced on separate rates for exactly that reason. Neither is better than the other; they serve different purposes. Raw gold suits buyers who want metal without paying for packaging, and jewellers who are going to work it anyway. A sealed bar suits someone who wants certified weight and purity they can resell without an argument.

We never quote a single blended "gold rate" across the two. The raw rate on this page and the bar rates are set separately and move separately.

Rawa or a minted bar — which suits you

Both are gold. The question is what you intend to do with it.

• Rawa suits buyers paying for metal and nothing else, and anyone having the gold worked into something — a jeweller's starting material.
• A manufactured bar suits anyone holding gold untouched and expecting to resell it. Depending on the size it carries either sealed packaging with the mint's printed details, or a unique serial number and a QR code — either way, the next buyer has something to check rather than taking it on trust.

The cost difference is the packing charge and the rate itself; the practical difference shows up at resale. Compare today's figures on this page against the gold bar prices and decide on the day.

No packing or handling charge

Raw gold has no packaging, so there is nothing to charge for. The rate per tola multiplied by the weight is the entire figure — nothing is added at the counter.

Buying raw gold from us

Come to the counter, or message on WhatsApp first for larger quantities so the metal is ready. The rate is confirmed at the counter before anything is settled, and you get a receipt recording weight and the rate used.

Selling raw gold to us
